Having a debate with myself whether you'd have written BG3 better than the people who actually did.. and I think yeah, you'd probably do a slightly better job because by God that writing was so often cringe and only the pretty sparks, tactical battles and elf girls made up for it.
What a silly little world we live in when a few hundred million $ game doesn't even have the boss put his foot down and hire some good writers. At least Cyberpunk '77 did it, but they fumbled the gameplay. 😭
I don't mean raising Cormac McCarthy from the grave and forcing him to do it via unholy means, just get some guys who've published successful novels to do it.
I like a lot of bg3 but I have an issue that too many rough edges get worn down too quickly.
Especially how Shart never comes to terms with how evil shar is, when all of act 2 is about how evil shar is.
Or how Wyll is... objectively stupid.

Yeah, I'll agree that the party alignment angle seemed under developed.
Even though the motivation on why to stay together till the end was pretty easy.
Ugh, I really don't like the whole "world is going to end, you must save it" type of RPG plot.
